MEET MY FIRST PHOTOGRAPHY SUBJECT, EVER. This is Liz, my high school best friend. We were inseparable. In 2001, my interest in photography was just beginning. I was a junior in high school and I was taking an ROP class in photography just for fun. Of course I had homework which was to practice the skills I was newly acquiring. In steps Liz, camera shy and forced into every awkward, albeit terrible pose I put her in while I'm clumsily doing my best to figure out the 35mm Canon I was attempting to shoot with.
Over the years, life happened. We both had our own lives, got married, she became a mom. Yet, to this day I am making her my subject, forcing her in front of the camera 18 years later, though this time around it wasn't awkward. It was so fun and it made me reminisce on our friendship and the incredible person she has become. During this shoot, I could truly celebrate with her and cheer her on through the use of my talents. Congratulations Liz, on your nursing school graduation. You are going to be one hell of a nurse. I know we will see your face modeling much more often around Legacy as well. Can't wait!
